Linux Fund Mission

Linux Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides financial and advisory support to the free and open software community. We have given away over $750,000 to open source events and development around the world since our founding in 1999 using funds raised through our line of credit cards and direct donations.

Our primary focus is to bring promising OSI-compliant software projects to production status and foster the community efforts surrounding them.

We have helped dozens of projects and events aroudn the world with income from our line of credit cards and are actively expanding our reach outside of North America.
