Santa Clara, California – April 22nd, 2009 – Linux Fund has expanded its partnership with Sandro Santilli of the Gnash media player team to bring OpenStreetMap editing support to this open source Flash® player. This work will also improve YouTube compatibility and joins Linux Fund's existing effort to bring the Real Time Messaging Protocol support to Gnash.

Gnash is an Open Media Now! Foundation initiative that is part of the GNU Project. Flash is an animation file format pioneered by Macromedia which continues to be supported by their successor company, Adobe. Flash has been extended to include audio and video content, and programs written in ActionScript, an ECMAScript-compatible language. Gnash is based on GameSWF and supports most SWF v7 functionality, plus portions of SWF v8 and v9.

Corvallis, Oregon – December 15th, 2008 – Linux Fund has partnered with Gnash project developer Sandro Santilli to bring the Real Time Messaging Protocol support to this open source Flash player. This project will enable users to enjoy streaming video from a number of popular web sites and the open source Red5, Cygnal and Dimdim servers. The Gnash/RTMP project joins the LiVES video editing project as part of Linux Fund's growing open media initiative.
